Inspired at a young age by Etta James, Jade Monet is an incredibly gifted vocalist whose versatility ranges from Jazz & Soul, to the R&B/Pop sound of her debut EP, “Awake & Dreaming”. Her vocals often draw comparisons to other Jazz/R&B standouts such as Amy Winehouse, Adele and Jorja Smith.
Kevin Castro is a professional pianist based out of Vancouver, British Columbia who performs contemporary music. Castro adds his own jazz spin onto every song he performs during, ensuring it connects with the musicality of the set and the audience
Jade Monet and Kevin Castro met in 2020 and have played together at numerous venues in Vancouver ever since. Their music is a blend of Jazz/R&B, coloured by the influences of pop and soul. You can catch them every Saturday and Sunday at Laowai cocktail bar in Vancouver.
John Nicholson is an up-and-coming saxophonist. A new arrival to Vancouver, John spent the first five years of his career in Toronto, where he performed and recorded with a wide range of prominent artists, including Hugh Jackman at Scotiabank Arena, OVO Sound’s Akeel Henry and LOONY, Zeus, Broken Social Scene’s Jason Collette, and jazz luminaries David Liebman, Mike Murley, Kelly Jefferson, Terry Clarke, Lorne Lofsky, Perry White, Pat Collins, Chase Sanborn, Colleen Allen, Terry Promane, and many more.
Songlist will include Jazz favourites from Ella Fitzgerald / Chick Corea to more contemporary artists such as Billy Joel and Adele and everything in-between.
